Mary Dolch, First Church’s New Organist!

A big welcome to Mary Dolch, who starts as our new organist September, 2017!

Mary is the Associate Director of Chapel Music at St. Paul’s School in Concord, where she has been living, teaching, and coaching since August, 2016.  (She will continue in that role at St. Paul’s School while also serving as our Organist.)

Prior to working at St. Paul’s School, Mary spent six years studying organ and sacred choral repertoire at two institutions which are highly respected for their Sacred Music programs – Westminster Choir College and Yale Institute of Sacred Music. While earning her Masters in Organ Performance at Yale, Mary served as the Interim Director of Music and Organist for St. Luke’s Parish, a large and vibrant Episcopal Church community in Darien, CT.  She has also held organist positions at Methodist, Catholic, and Congregational churches.

Mary writes, “While I love playing the organ in concert/performance settings, I feel there is no better instrument to fulfill the role of leading worship in a house of God.  There is a reason the pipe organ has served this purpose for centuries – it is the closest instrument to the human voice!  My ultimate goal is to use my gifts to enhance the worship, and to enable others to experience the Lord.”

We are grateful and joyful that Mary will be joining Mindy and Missy as our musical leaders at First Church.  We are blessed!
