parking and getting situated
As you pull into the parking lot, our Parish House is on the left and our Church Sanctuary is on the right. Both are accessible to all, regardless of physical ability.
Everyone begins Sunday morning together in our Church Sanctuary at 10:00 am.
We have a decent-sized parking lot, but on many Sundays it is not large enough to accommodate all who attend. If you arrive early enough, you will find a space in the parking lot; otherwise, there is plenty of room for parking on the street.
Church offices, Sunday School rooms, the Great Hall, and restrooms are all located in our Parish House.
WORSHIP IN OUR CHURCH SANCTUARY
Everyone enters the Church Sanctuary by the accessibility ramp in front. Once inside, you will be warmly greeted and handed a bulletin outlining the service of worship. Our worship is traditional and upbeat. We sing hymns out of hymnals, and we’re accompanied by an organist and a choir. Worship lasts approximately one hour.
What to wear? Some people come dressed in their Sunday best. Others dress much more casually. We encourage you to dress in the way that feels most appropriate and comfortable for you.
During summer worship (the last Sunday in June through the first Sunday in September), worship remains at 10 am. However, there is no Sunday School or Nursery Care, and the choir has the summer off. Special musical offerings are provided by talented parishioners and guests.n
children and families
Children and families of all kinds are welcome at First Church. Families begin the morning together in the sanctuary, and then children and youth (from preschool through 8th-grade) leave for Sunday School part way through the service. Sunday School ends around 11:15 am.
Nursery Care is also available in our Parish House Nursery for infants and toddlers. Nursery Care is offered by caring, experienced staff in conjunction with parent and youth volunteers from the church community.
During summer worship (the last Sunday in June through the first Sunday in September), there is no Sunday School or Nursery Care.
FELLOWSHIP HOUR
At the conclusion of worship and Sunday School, all are invited to gather together in our Great Hall in the Parish House for refreshments and fellowship.
All are welcome to join us. We invite you to stick around for a snack or beverage, strike up a conversation, and make some new friends! During the summer months, when the weather is nice, we gather outside on the Parish House lawn.
